Attention to detail is so important when hosting or organising events, and I know some I have been to, certain things have the wow factor, and sometimes it is let down with certain elements that don’t quite fit.
Take a look at bars for example, nowadays there are some amazingly creative ways of serving drinks, old caravans or cars that have been converted, but then if you don’t have the outside room, you are snookered!
But… we have a solution now! And that comes in the form of the 2 vintage cocktail bars, fondly names Bettie and Brigitte. Anita Edwards from How I Partied, based in Kent, is such an inspiration, having recently signed up to Utilise It I have learnt more about her business and her passion for everything Vintage, Retro and Kitsch.
What would you say your favourite cocktail is?
The ultimate for me at the moment is the Prosecco Mojito; take a look at this recipe from The Prosecco Club!
Ingredients For the syrup:
230g white sugar
A generous handful of fresh mint
45ml white rum
½ fresh lime, plus a wedge to garnish
What has been the most interesting event you have ever worked at?
One of my favourites has to be the Halloween vintage wedding, where we set up outside the church to give out Mocktails to each of their guests. I am however really looking forward to next weeks 40th birthday party, which is a themed Fantasy Island meets The Love Boat! 2 brilliant TV series The creativity of some people is just brilliant.
What does the future have in store for How I Partied?
We purchased the bars in 2013, and most of our business has been through the wedding fairs. I would say the biggest focus for us right now is focussing more on private parties and hen do’s I really do believe in business collaborations too… so watch this space!
