Having traveled the world a fair bit, in my humble opinion, there is nothing greater that the British countryside. When I think of the country, my thoughts are very much with the smell of the flowers, the sound of the babbling brook and rolling fields as far as your eye can see.
Now take a small piece of that, mixed with rustic charm and a hint of nostalgia, and you have the perfect recipe for this brilliant company I have had the pleasure of coming across on my search for props and other interesting items for our customers who want just that.
Nikki Lamb runs The Toast, a vintage and rustic inspired prop hire and events company based on the outskirts of Arundel West Sussex. From helping to style your entire event to just providing a few finishing touches to impress and entertain your guests The Toast can help. From a log cake stand and old apple crates to bigger finishing touches, such as a traditional coconut shy or vintage bike filled with flowers Nikki can really help to bring your event to life. The Toast is one of the latest companies to sign up to our service from Utilise It.
So I thought I would get a little inside knowledge from Nikki, to ask her what her top 3 tips were to organise any wedding event.
Hot Tip #1
It’s a numbers game! Knowing how many people you are inviting really is the key point to start with. Knowing this will help you work out your budget and will be vital when it comes to finding the type of venue you will need and organising the catering. Once you’ve worked out how many guests you’ll have the fun can really begin with how you’ll entertain them.
Hot Tip #2
Keep your budget in mind! Work out a realistic figure and stick to it. The likes of Pinterest are brilliant for ideas and inspiration but it can be costly to try and recreate EVERYTHING you see. To keep costs down think about the things you can do DIY, consider hiring instead of buying the decorations and finishing touches to furnish your event and don’t’ be afraid to rope in family and friends to help.
Hot Tip #3
Remember this is your big day. Sit down with your partner and decide what YOU both want! It can be very easy to get bogged down in the minute details of organising your day and feeling like you have to please everyone. Remember that ultimately your wedding day should be all about the love you have for one another, show your guests this and you’re on to a winner!
